DIAGNOdent Laser Cavity Detection

Dr. Sherry R. Jordan is an expert in caring for tooth decay (caries or cavities).  Besides a thorough cleaning and examination to identify cavities, Dr. Jordan has a state-of-the-art DIAGNOdent® pen to pinpoint cavities even when the surface of the tooth looks intact (subsurface cavities). 

DIAGNOdent utilizes laser fluorescence that penetrates within the tooth structures.  The laser disperses into the site to highlight fissures, decay, and infection leading to faster treatment, less pain, and reduction in future dental costs. 

Some lesions present on teeth are too small or in areas not easily accessible using conventional examinations and instruments.  The DIAGNOdent laser can detect these lesions where even bite-wing x-rays cannot. 

One study has shown such a high level of effectiveness in the DIAGNOdent laser that this device may become a standard tool in every dental practice in the years to come.
